The rifles are available in two configurations by Norinco, the more common rifle version with full wood stock and a thumb hole hand grip, similar to the Dragunov Sniper Rifle and then the scarcer of the two, the paratrooper style side folding metal stock with wood hand grip. These were made after the 1989 USA gun bans in an effort to meet the “sporter” classification of firearm. The MAK-90 is a Chinese factory quality built AK model exported to the USA from China from 1990 through 1994 by two Chinese export companies: Norinco and PolyTech.
